Updated 1-24-14 My weekend project truck, my daily driver.

So this weekend I went after my rear diff plate. And wow what a mess it was!!!! I sanded the back axle and D60 area down first and cleaned it. Then I painted it and installed the new diff cover. I cleaned the old gasket off the D60 and sanded it down so it was really clean when I put new RTV on it. I run into one problem where the bolts that came with new plate didn't fit so I had to make a run to the hardware store. I filled it with 75w 90 oil and it take 2 bottles and I actually have to go get a third bottle because its not fill yet. Other then that it went pretty good. Has my pictures this weekend, what do you think?

Im thinking about taking the spare tire off, but not sure.

So its been awhile and just thought I would update with what I did this weekend. I installed duraspark eletronic ignition and it was less then $150 all brand new parts. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the install but I'll take a few shots of the setup. Advice to anyone changing the distributor make sure you put tons of grease on the shaft to the oil pump. I actually dropped mine inside the engine and had to fish it out with a magnetic. Overall it went as expected alittle trouble and take alttle time to make sure mine wiring was correct. I got it to start and run so i was able to drive it to work this morning. I think I need to do alittle adjustments on the timing by it runs way better then points. Thanks for another project done!

Also to add I removed my in cabin tank a few weeks ago to gain leg room and I was getting tired of smelling gas all the time.

What parts did you use for your duraspark swap? Just curious cause I'm tired of messin with the points in mine! I have the blue motorcraft ign. module. I know I need a dist. and a coil for the set-up also.

I got all my parts from O Reilly auto parts, LMC and Junk yard.

Just go to O Reilly website and and type in these part numbers.

And I had to go to a junk yard to get the harness that connects to the distributor.

Thanks jp. I'll check into it. Working out carburetor problems right now. I'm not too big on the points system, plus I got to prove the old man wrong on this one!!! Keep up the good work and keep us posted!

So it been awhile and I thought I would go at it again. I started my interior restore project. I painted so far the doors and door jams. Took out 40 year old flooring and beat up dash pad. I'm going with the dash pad delete option, too bad the PO hacked up the metal dash. I'll make it work thou. Also I found some plugs for the holes in the back were the pad bolts down. It took some time to get it off because it was stuck.

Had to take a break from the truck for about three weekends due to life and thumb injury playing basketball. But I'm back at it

I finally purchased and installed my Hellwig sway bars and Moog steering damper. What a world of difference in turning and driving down the highway. Here's a few pictures, took me 3 hours to install the sway bars and a 45mins to install damper. It was a hard project with no one to help me hold bars in place. I got it done thou!

I'm still the progress of finishing my interior I have to paint my back wall and install my floor. Also in the process of a A/C system up grade. I know I'm all over the place, wish I could take a week off work to finish everything! I'll keep you posted

1. Finally got the bugs worked out on the a/c upgrade and its blowing cold now. Wow what a task!

2. Sanded and painted back wall of cab. Wasn't to bad

Next is the floor install, hopefully next weekend. Ill keep you posted
