Re: 4X4X4 it DRIVES!!
As always it looks fantastic! I can't wait to see more about the AC, especially how cold it is. If it is a success I will likely duplicate it in my 67. AC is as much of a necessity here as it is in your neck of the woods.

Re: 4X4X4 it DRIVES!!
Hey yall, it's been way too long for a update on the crew. Thanks to God work has been great, doin 70 hour work weeks. I have been working on the crew off and on and having a good friend help me with the monster wiring job, he has been a blessing! I have put up the roof console and everything works great. I sure didn't realize how much work this was gonna be!! All switches activate a relay that is mounted on the firewall. I have to go through 6 switches to start the truck, I need a checklist!! The truck drives great, I will have it finished by January. I will have it registered by then. I have learned alot about wiring and how this thing operates, i have alot to learn too. besides the wiring all that is left is complete the interior and install the ARB lockers and the load levelers and air compressor then we are on the road! here are a few pics of the latest.
The switch panel was water jet cut. laying it out on the console
cutting holes for the map lights
the switches are lighted, white is off red is on
measuring for the DVD player
painted the console body color and running some of the wires
running the 84 wires down the A pillar
the finished console. kinda hard to see the lighted switches. the switches in the back are power windows and locks. the gauge in the middle will show the air tank compressed air pressure and the load leveler air bag pressure. switch panels are brushed aluminum.
here is the dakota digital dash lit up. this is kinda cool also has a satelite speedo
here is the relay panel on the inside firewall that is operated by the console switches
the double din radio/dvd/GPS

Re: 4X4X4 seats and carpet
Been Awhile Happy New Year! Thanks for the bump Marine!! Things are sslloowwllyy moving along, but they are moving.
Here are a few of the interior.
sound deadener material went down first
heat insulation went on top of that
carpet. I used one large piece of carpet to do the cab floor. very difficult to form the area around the front floors!
the rear step well. sprayed with black bedliner and fabricated a trim piece from aluminum to make the transition from carpet to black bedliner nice and durable. Note the factory weatherstrip kick gaurd.
I carpeted the transmission plate as well. took alot of patience to avoid any creases. In place of the bolts through the top I welded bolts to the plate and secured them from the underneath. the finished product is darn near seamless.
Never knew the provisions were in place for retractable shoulder and lap belts. easy install
I know I wanted a large push/brush gaurd front bumper but I couldn't make up my mind on design so I settled on a factory type with built in fog lamps
My new steering wheel.
Thanks y'all for the kind words and for keeping me focused on this!

Just ordered a set of Rancho 9000XT adjustable shocks for the crew today. anybody use these? They were a bit expensive but the guy behind the counter says there the one of the best.

Do me a favor and do not post your address because I hate thieves and would hate to become one.... Just kidding about that but seriously this is one of the nicest builds I have seen on any vehicle. I would trade you my 2010 Ford for it!!! If the bank didn't own most of it still that is....

Re: 4X4X4 headliner in!
Ha! That is awesomely funny! Thanks for the kind words.Do me a favor and do not post your address because I hate thieves and would hate to become one....
Here are some updates....
I used strips of aluminum and contoured them to the curve of the roof fastened them with button head screws and covered them in headliner matererial.
chip board covered in headliner material
the roof console all done. video player installed!
installed the chrome trim
finally got it out to take a better picture!
As of today I have spoke with 7 classic insurance carriers and NOBODY wants to insure this! They are being ridiculous with the excuses! Tires too big, it has a trailer hitch, a lift kit, a winch....
Still working on them, will let ya'll know how this dilema turns out.

Nice work rattlecan.
Is AAA in your insurance mix? They have always been good to me. Being a non-profit type insurance company, their underwriters are more relaxed about stuff like driving record and such. Give 'em a try if you have not.
