HEY I'M PUTING TOGETHER A TRUCK FROM THE 70s AND AM LOOKING FOR A MORE MODERN CLUTCH SETUP. THINKING ABOUT A HYDROLIC CLUTCH. I AM USING AN FE MATED TO A T18 DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS???
The factory linkage works fantastic. If you want to improve it and have access to proper machines you can modify the originals or make new rods that use quality spherical rod ends.
Hydraulics are not complex, but there isn't a hydraulic FE bellhousing for your application.
bEttEr??? LOOKING FOR HYDROLIC CLUTCH CUS ORIGINAL LINKAGE IS TO SLOPPY. DON'T I JUST NEED A SLAVE CYLNDER THAT WILL BOLT TO OR BE MODIFIED TO FIT A FE?? AND THERE IS THE PART ABOUT THE CLUTCH MASTER??
Rebuilding the original linkage, would be alot easier then converting your mechanical clutch to a hydraulic considering your trans/bellhousing aren't setup for a juice clutch.
DOSN'T THE SLAVE BOLT ON USING THE BELL HOUSING BOLTS? JUST NEED GRADE 5 BOLTS AND A SLAVE THAT BOLTS USING THE RIGHT PATTERN, YES? THE PROBLEM I THINK WILL BE TO GET A MASTER THAT I CAN MAKE WORK CONCIDERING I HAVE POWER BRAKES. MAYBE A REMOTE RESOVOR??? I HAVE SEEN THEM ON POWER STEERING AND BRAKES BEFORE SO I JUST NEED TO FIND SOME ONE, ANY ONE THAT MAKES ONE FOR OLD, GREAT FORDS.
That bellhousing isn't setup to bolt a slave cylinder to it, if your gonna go so far as to put a hydraulic setup in you may as well get a OD transmission considering the clutch is the hardest part.
