How well is the powder coat stuck to those castings? Just curious, went down that road a few times before and always had terrible adhesion on anything with crossections thicker than .200" or so.

Yes, Transforce HT. It was either that or the original looking Traxions found at STA. I went with the Firestone radials.

Transforce will drive nicely for sure. You turned me on to those STA tires though i have been looking at the old style power king tires so sweet another alternative. I have about decided to buy some nice AT tires for the aluminum wheels on my truck now then have a set of old school steels tires, and hubcaps for classy looking times. Looks good man for sure. I am with Dustin as well how does the powder work on cast.

Averagef250, Manny - I will keep you posted on the powder, but I will say I can't imagine anything much tougher. I hope it holds!!!

Just got my bolts back from the plating co. today, I hope to start more assembly soon, but we're staring down a winter storm and may 10" of snow!

Here are a few pics of my hardware back from the plating co., and the front axle, and some other misc. parts.

Hardware in black oxide, new u-bolts for front and rear, the front I could not find the original style - I just had these made in Omaha. With the help of Fordman, I was able to locate NOS rear u-bolts at an old Ford dealership in Monticello, IA.

Mounted the steering gear to determine the amount of material we need to remove from the radiator support, radiator and shroud.

What a Super Bowl! Prior to that we did manage to get the rear end bolted up, and some brake work done. I can't seem to locate original style e-brake cables and that did hold us up. I thought the cables I had from NAPA were right on, but no such luck.

If anyone knows where to find them, I'm all ears. I was referred to green sales earlier, and I will try them.

I have some nice ones from a '68 F-250 4x4 with 39K actual miles (it was ordered with 4.56's and sat in a carport forever since nobody wanted to drive it). My truck's lifted and has a newer axle so I don't really need them. Is this something that would work or do you need new?
