Other than gear ratio options are there any differences from year to year for the bumpside D60 rears?? Are the brakes the same size for all years '67-'72?
I know the trucks had different GVWR ratings but did that change anything in the rearend or rear brakes or was that just the springs?
thanks

My truck is a '72 F250 6200 GVW. I switched it to a Dana 60 from a '68 Camper Special, wider brakes-2"(more like 1 3/4", IIRC) vs. 2 1/2".
I also recall the earlier Dana housing was a bit different, the driveline yoke did not extend as far forward. A small difference of about 3/4", resulting in a slightly longer driveline. The splined coupling of the 2 piece driveshaft extended enough to compensate.

Quick question to add ... Are the Dana 60's rear on a 1/2 ton truck wider then the 9" rears? Looking to see if they line up better with the front wheels. I remember my grandpa having a Dana 60 w/ traction lok in his 65 F100 and my dad drooling over it wanting it for his 72. (should have bought that old truck )

one difference that i know of is that a very small few F100 had the option of a 5 lug Dana 60. My 69 F100 Ranger is equiped from the factory with a 5 lug D60 and 3.54 gear
