Alright, Inspired by the Tales of Lou and a few others I'd like to put mine up. I'm fairly new to working on trucks and other auto-motives. I got my truck in may of 2011 and it sits in about the same state as when I got it. Our close family friend had been putting time and money into the truck several years ago ( I think '03 ) but sadly several years later ( '06 ) His wife died, since then it's been sitting in a field gathering dust and a little rust.
Okay, lets slow it down here I'm getting ahead of myself.
I own a truck that is between the years of 1973 and 1978. The Chasis is a '73, the cab '78, the rear end either 78 or 75(?) the front end is a 78. Either way their two different ends from two separate trucks. It's running a '73 429 bigblock, from an old thunder bird. ( All the Credit for that goes to the family friend, Mark, I did get to watch and help a little bit. But I was too young then to understand or be of much help other than hold the light. ) There are little to no performance parts on the truck right now. It's been put together from a lot of wrecked trucks scraped off of the highway or towed in. Mark had friends in the Vehicle Towing and repair.
Back to the story, Getting ready to attend my cousins graduation, my dad lets me in on a little secret that I may or may not have known about. Not only were we driving 80 miles to see my cousin and his graduation we were picking up my truck ( Hoorraay! ) So before the graduation we drove out to the farm it rested at. My dad was driving my mothers truck a Ram 1500 with the Hemi, of course. Needless to say my beastly truck almost made the trailers hitch drag on the ground, and maxed out the Dodges Suspension. The thing was a monster, it had four flat tires, and every fender on it was a different color, it had a hood that was a brown and a red body with white and dark red fenders. It was a beaut. ( I have pictures but I don't know how to get them from my phones memory card yet . )
Dragging the monster home was fun, every time we tried to slow down the trailer kept pushing, the trailer brakes almost exploded ( Not literally, but we put alot of wear on them that day.) And finally we got it home. To my surprise after sitting for six years, it started with a little gas in the carb and some fresh gas in the tank. I got to drive it till september when it blew the rear differential, and it was an amazing toy. It's a standard transmission by the way. The only thing I've done to it so far, was clean out the inside and bed, and put on a new water pump ( I wish some one would have told me there were so many bolts! )

Re: My Senior Project!
Sounds like a cool project truck, but did you say it's all 73 and up part's You have what we call a "dent" truck and although there are changable parts to our "bump"(67-72)trucks....you may find that the sister site...Fordification.net will be more suited to your project . Don't get me wrong..your perfectly fine in posting your project here (we all love pic's of projects) on Fodification.comJust saying that it might be more helpful for info and parts for your project over there
I've had enough and I'm not alone

Don't sweat the small things when your posting many fine members here will help you out and point you in the right direction. You just need to have thick skin -- all that matters is it is a FORD and it has a 429 in it and your interested in it instead of a TOYyota!!! Have fun and don't be afraid to work on it buy a tool set from sears and get wrenching!
Congrats!!
Congrats!!
Be grateful for every day
