Hi,

A dream that i have for my truck someday is to swap out the Dana 44 up front for a independent front suspension setup. I was wondering if anyone has done such a thing to a 1970 Ford F-250 Highboy?

What do ya all think? Should i spend the money?

I am going to be working out in the bering for 2 months at a time so i probably would be paying a shop to do it so i can play with it when im off.

I sort of did. I have an independant front end up front, but that is because I did a body swap with a 95 chassis. Lots of guys like the straight axle better though. Why do you want to do the swap?

The straight axle is a lot stronger and cheaper to replace parts. Most everyone that does any heavy duty 4 wheeling do the opposite that you want to do. They go to a straight axle. Just my opinion and experience.
