Re: 68' F100 Long Bed "Texas Trouble"
Well Im finally back.... and not alot has gone on . I did learn that a hood and grille from a 1972 Ford f100 wont fit a 1968 Ford f100 (go figure).
But on the good notes, Gas tank is installed, 9" has been repainted and put back under the rear along with some cleaned up leafs. Got the old hood and grille back on, just need to get them hammerd and welded together and they will be good as new. Working on the drive shaft now getting all new U joints and a freash coat of paint on that.
Still to come hopefully a cleaned up pair of rims, Getting the bed floor replaced, getting the engine, tranny, and rear end in proper allignement. Sorry its taken so long guys, this nursing school is nuts and really feel that the truck has become more of a lawn orniment then a project but hey small steps am I right?

Slow and steady wins the race! I go through spurts of activity on mine followed by long periods of waiting for more money/time for the next step. You've made excellent progress and at least you're staying motivated. Great work!

Thanks, Slow and steady does win but dang it gets almost demotivating when nothing is going on thats for sure. Ill get some pics up soon, and hopefully get some pics up of my paint job that im gonna throw on it.
Hey not a "little 302" is only little till it gets a bigger bore.... then its just a "little bit of fun" =) but true man its small but a good motor to learn on, Id recomend any generic mass produced motor for a first motor since there are sooooooo many options for it. Its those options that have saved my butt.. not kidding haha

So somehow even down south its been slightly to cold to go outside and take pictures of the progress.... But in other news I did order a new pair of Pace Setter short tube headers, had a pair of long tube but they were hitting a transmission support bracket. They should be in soon, well I hope.

http://www.fordification.com/tech/trim.htm#Grilles They will as a whole and the hood would work with the right latch. Sorry that ya didn't find this info beforehand.

Re: 68' F100 Long Bed "Texas Trouble"
Thanks sir... Ive been so busy here lately with work had not had time to update... So here I go, 1). Bought a fuel system from summit. 2). bought a new holley carb. 3). got the driveshaft under the truck and lines up pretty nice. 4). hood is on and bolted on and I realize my pass. fender is not so straight haha.
I need to get some pics with my camera soon. so I can update my page. Things still to do before I get the bed on... 1) get brake lines and fuel lines ran.
To get it started tho... 1) get spark. 2) get fuel. 3) get cooling 4). and line it all up for sure =)

I did decide to get my truck just street legal; may look like crap on the road but as my brother said " Doesnt matter what the outside looks like, just matters whats under the hood. So im gonna throw what ever it takes at the truck to get it street legal + gotta make it as loud as I can. Ill get pics up soon of what all I did today soon.
