Dip Stick hole - FE

Post by 71PA_Highboy »

I am switching from a 2WD pan to a 4WD pan. How did the factory block off the dip stick tube hole in the block near the oil filter mount? Was it a threaded pipe plug, a swaged in cap or ?????

TIA,

Eric

a 3/8 press in plug was used. I've had a couple that were plugged with 30-30 winchester brass. The hole is a couple thou under .375, whatever goes in there needs to be about .380 diameter for leak free tight fit.
