Re: 1968 F350 Project
Here is the 600 cluster and the tachs haha. Also the vac guage is a little faded and I found one on ebay that should be here this week. I think I might paint the cluster a different color again at some point. I really want a chrome bezel but this one will work till then.

Re: 1968 F350 Project
Big news. After over a year of looking I finally found a hood. It was the last big item I needed to get the truck painted. It is a real nice hood from CA. Picked it up yesterday at the greyhound bus stop. I also got some ss trim that I was wanting for it as well. Now I just need to get the trim cleaned up and my weather stripping ordered and I can send it to be painted. Now to decide on a color.

Re: 1968 F350 Project
Wow it has been a while since i have update this. First I purchased a tractor and have been using the truck to haul the tractor. Then I lost the driver side rear wheels last fall and finally found the parts to put it back together. I have also been gathering up parts for my dump bed. I now have another hoist, a pto, rear hindge, pump and resevor and some other odds and ends. Also late this fall I took the bed off and the truck is now at the painters. Hopefully he starts on it any day now. Now the biggest question is paint color. I have always been a fan of darker colors. I really like the idea of black or a darker blue that found. But the interior is the orgianl Baby Blue. I have also thought of going back with the baby blue but am just unshure. He is paining the door jambs and dash thought so I can repaint the rest. I also have all new weather stripping for the truck. I am up for paint ideas for anyone who has input Here are some updated pictures and color ideas.

Re: 1968 F350 Project
Not to much of an update. The painter has the drivers door patched and in primer as well as the fender. Pass side is striped down. Hood was sanded and most work ( dents smoothed out) when I was there last. Maybe I can go take a picture or two today..

Re: 1968 F350 Project
Not to much of an update I finally decided on a color but will leave it at that. November makes a year that my painter has had the truck. I hope that he gets started back on it soon. I really want it back by spring so that I can work on dump bed and such. Also I want to paint the frame. Any ideas on the best paint for it? I dont care to spend a little bit if it will last. I have been looking at masterseries paint, por 15 and magnet paint. I have used the masterseries and it seems to be holding up well on my daily driver 94 for in salt and snow but after 3 years it is starting to go a little bit, but that was with little to no prep. However it has incresed in price to close to por 15 so that is why I was thinking about trying the magnet paint. Hope to have more later. Oh I have also been toying with getting one of these http://www.advanceadapters.com/products/pn-760010m-27/ i know at least one member on here has it as there is a tech article on it. I started a new job that is further away from home ( Ford dealer) now and when i get the truck back it would be nice to have a 8 speed with overdrive. Any input I am open to. Well I think that is it for the moment.

Re: 1968 F350 Project
Update time!!
Well my painter is working on the truck again. He hopes to have it finished this week. He took the doors off and apart to put new weather striping in. The inside has now been painted!!! He not only painted the dash but did the gas tank, floor boards, and the other metal in the cab. He removed the windshield and back glass as well. Underside of the new hood is now painted, grill is painted, and the front fenders were taken off again and the inside and edges were painted. Anyway I am getting excited for the finished product. No pictures yet but there will be some hopefully soon and with color! ( Also I am not saying what the color is yet either) I did pick out paint for the frame and it arrived yesterday. I have found two new wheels for the front and have been looking for four more for the rear. I have also been kind of tire shopping so we will see if i find what I want there and does not cost an arm and a leg. I do want to get the bed painted and the rear dump hinge on before the bed goes back on. Then I can work on the hoist install later maybe in the fall when I dont use the truck as much. I think that is it for the moment. Hopefully more updates to come soon!

Re: 1968 F350 Project
Truck is now painted! Glass is in( with all new weather striping). He lacks paint on the front bumper and a little touch up work. I dont have any pictures yet but I think it looks nice! It is deffently different and shiny which is something the old paint job did not have! Paint is waiting for the frame when I get the truck back. I am really looking forward to having my truck back and another vehicle to drive/have as a spair. Hopefully next post will have pictures!
