Re: weight of your modulator spring
Sorry for the confusion, this is the method for setting the spring tension inside the modulator.
Put the pin in the mod & hold the assy on the scale, vertically, pin on the scale, and carefully push the mod down until you see it start to move. When it begins to move , the spring starting to compress..That is the point that we are trying to achive it's best to have an assistant watch & read the scale
As you adj the screw, when it is correct the pin will start moving against the spring..
AS soon as I learn how to get photos on here I will start posting them...HTH.....Donnie

the easiest way to do photos is with a photo bucket account
it is free and will let you add them directly to the post instead of just posting a link to them

Re: weight of your modulator spring
Hi, thanks for the advice, I'll check out the method involved,,,,,,,NICE engine BTW, looks good !
only thing that I would add, if your rite side valve cover is plumbed into your air cleaner, which I assume it is, it is pulling vapors thru your engine & I notice your L/S valve cover has no filter on it. Fram makes a small filter holder & a nylon element for a stock air filter, I think it is red also, so this will follow your color selection..Just something that I noticed...
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR ADVICE .............Donnie

Re: weight of your modulator spring
both of the breather caps have filters in them
and being a new engine it dosent have much blowby
I only got to run the engine for 1500 miles and then got an offer I could not refuse
so it is in Springdale Ar now and I put my stock engine back in
It sucks going from 530 HP back to 300 HP
but come spring the 427 tunnel port goes in and back up over 600 HP

Re: weight of your modulator spring
I'm aware of the inside filter in your cap, & I'm not concerned about blow by in your new engine.
In order for your crankcase to circulate air E.G.---breathe, it must pull air into the other cap.
If you are satisfied with the "chore girl" material that is in your cap..So be it..forget I mentioned it......just an observation...........Donnie
