All, of course this would happen. I took my truck to have the exhaust done today and the darn thing wouldn't go into any gears. It is a 3-speed cruise-o-matic. I got under the truck and moved the shift rod and finally got it into 1st gear...but now nothing happens--the shift lever moves fine and moves the rod at the tranny but it does not shift into any gears. I checked the fluid and all was good. Any ideas?
Thanks
Matt

Re: Trans not going into gear-automatic
Mystery solved: pulled pan and for some reason the linkage was not correctly set in the valve body. All is fixed now.
