9" rear tube diameter

9" rear tube diameter

Anybody know what the diameter of the 9" rear tube? is it 3" or 3.25? I want to buy u bolts and spring perches.

i dont think it is as blarge as 3 inch. its probably a 2 1/2 at the most. i have original u bolts and plates if you want them.

unless it is a 64-65 mustang the diameter is 3 inches

Just bought new u-bolts for mine. My original's were 1/2" x 3-1/4" x 7".

Thats what I thought most 9" rears are 3" except for trucks, rancheros, and torinos . I know ballistic fab makes new perches or maybe I can just grind out a set of 3 " or I'll just be careful when I cut the old ones off. :D
