Thanks Evan... I am pretty intimate with my one radio, I was trying to gut it and install a whole AM/FM assy in it, without success; so I just rebuilt it.
I have pictures and will send them to you (or post them). I appreciate your response and think this is pretty cool.

Doug.

Evan. Is the radio still active all the time? By that I mean do you need to tune it to a dead spot on the dial? I didnt tear mine apart to see where this goes on the schematic in circuit but if so maybe one could use a switching jack to take the radio in and out of line when the plug is inserted.

Just did it. Took a couple of hours but very simple and easy to do. I used a $2 pair of headphones for my audio jack and hooked up some more wire to make it longer. Works really well.
Thanks

Yes the radio is active all the time but as soon as you plug in the MP3 player it quiets down the radio a lot and with your MP3 player volume all the way up you cant hear the radio even if it is on a station. But I suppose you could wire in some type of switch to select which one you wanted to use.

Thanks for doing that fordman. And I appreciate the kind words as usual! This mod could be better with some more electrical work but It's still a very nice way to listen to your own music while keeping the stock radio appearence.

you know the funny part? i dotn even have a ipod or mp3 player to hook to it when i do the mod. but what i do liek about hte thread is you show where to hook up the wires to run the jacks for doing it. so that means i could now hook up muiltiple jacks including rca jacks and so forth to plug in what ever i want to plug into it. even a 8 track player. ha ha.
