Congrats on the child. Me and my wife are having our first child, (girl), November 2nd or there about.

Truck is looking good. I'm about ready to start using por 15 or Rust Bullet on my frame and engine bay and was wondering how much I would need. I was going to do 2 coats possibly 3. How much did you use on your frame and how many coats did you put on?

Thanks man and congratulations on your upcoming baby girl as well. With your POR 15 question and from what I read on this site and what I’ve done would recommend POR-15. It is easy to use and a little bit goes a long way. I used a quart of POR 15 on my frame and suspension with two coats applied and the quart was just about done. I still have two more quarts in my garage for the parts and touch up that still have to do. I also bought two quarts of the chassis coat black since what I read about POR 15 tells me it could break down over time if exposed to sun light, and that helps prevent that. I would also recommend the paint spout and dauber kit out of national parts depot catalog, or getting something similar at a hardware store. Also look into getting extra rubber gloves, paint brushes, and spray bottles. I purchase my order through MAC but you can do it on POR 15 web site. Also check out You tube for so cool videos like this one but go to the first one first I saved the link wrong, a http://www.youtube.com/user/CumminsChev ... b7BOxHWQyE . I know it's a chevy but it still a good video. Also check POR 15 web site for information and check out Masdsen1970F100 thread on his rebuild I believe the thread is mY 1970 f100. Look at page five for my same question on POR 15; he broke it down real good for me. Good luck on your restore and get as much work done before that baby comes!!! 8)

Thanks for the reply. I have a gallon of POR 15 on order with my local Napa but haven't heard anything in a couple days. I'll stop by tomorrow and see what the status is. If not I'll just order it online along with the chassis coat.

Ok so it's been awhile but I've POR 15 the frame, putting the suspension back slowly, and getting some ideas on where to take it too for paint and chrome. Hardest part is buying replacement parts i.e. new door seals, carpet, e.t.c. So where are too pics. I hope in the next week or so to have the suspension back on and do a touch up on the frame with POR 15 and the top coat it. Only looking for two hard to find parts right now a camper special emblem, and AM radio cover plate so if any has any ideas let me know thanks,,,, 8)
