66 F100 with Warner 4spd

66 F100 with Warner 4spd
i've got a 66 F100 with code F transmission. My question is that the steering column has the linkage for column shifter but the book says that the Warner 4spd came with a floor shifter. Has someone changed out my sterring column or is this correct for the hole to be there for the column shifter

To sum it up, your truck has a 4 speed in it with floor shifter PLUS a 3 speed manual trans shifter in the steering column that's NOT hooked up to anything? If that's correct, than YES, things have been changed on your truck since it left the factory.
It won't hurt a thing to leave your truck as is as long as it's running OK by the way.
It tends to be rare to find an unmolested truck that's 45+ years old.

One more question how strong and rare is this transmission. I'm considering putting back a mid 80s 302 which will mean a different manual transmission. I keep going back and forth of rebuilding as it is or up grading to a little more horsepower. im currently taking it back down to the frame.
