I installed a new throwout bearing when I put my new engine in. I have driven it not more than 100 miles with this bearing.
I hab a squeaking noise with this bearing when you depressed the clutch pedal. No noise during driving.
Now the transmission is out and I noticed that you can move the bearing shell a bit around. It´s kinda hard to describe. I turns around nicely but you can move the actual bearing around a little.
I made a short video so that you know what I´m speaking of. I´ll see if I can upload it on youtube and post it here.
Throwout bearing: Is this normal? VIDEO, Help please!

Re: Throwout bearing: Is this normal for a almost new unit?
Damn it´s not working, somehow youtube does´t accept the format I´m using anymore.
Maybe this photo will help:
You can move around the bearing in the direction of the arrows. Maybe 1/16th of an inch. It´s like the balls in the bearing were too small and therefore the shell of the bearing moves around a bit.
Could it be that the bearing has to little grease inside?

Bad bearing.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!
