I'm sure someone here can help you identify what you have, but to help narrow it down, some more info would be useful.
Is it an auto or manual? If manual, is it 3/4/5 speed (if you know)? Any idea what vehicle it was originally (or is still) in?
A picture or two would also be useful.

It is an automatic.came attatched to a 390 in a "T" coupe unfinished rat rod project I bought. Trying to find out what I got.---T

If it's a Ford automatic, it's PROBABLY a C6 (never know what kinds of adapters people will use to mate up other stuff), but could be an MX/FMX (Cruise-O-Matic). Those are the only automatics that Ford ever put behind an FE.
