TV commercials added to Library

Post by FORDification »

I ran across a few new vintage Ford truck TV commercials posted on YouTube, so I went ahead and posted them to the Ford Truck Television Commercials section of the Factory Literature Library.

Added are commercials for 1966, 1971, and three for 1979.

If anyone ever happens upon one for bumpside or dentside trucks that isn't posted to the above link, please send me a link to it so I can archive it here as well.

I love that old nostalgic stuff... "works like a truck, drives like a car."

Oh man I love these. I loved the 1967 commercial, hilarious how they were serious about the "fake hatch back", and how they destroyed it at the end. Wow, we have come a long way in technology.

I like how the '71 commercial insinuates all us bumpside owners are toothless crazy men...

Totally not true. I have teeth!

These are great! Before my time so I never saw them on tv, but I like them anyways. Just a little back story for you guys. I live about 30 minutes away from what used to be the Ford Proving grounds, the ones where a lot of these commercials were shot, it has since been sold to Chrysler, but I have talked to a few old timers in my dealership that used to work out there. I have heard stories about guys getting compressed spines and ruptured kidneys from the washboard type roads, one story that always sticks out in my mind is the commercial where they drop the truck from the crane, they had about 25 trucks out there that day and they had to drop 17 of them before one would finally fire right up after it hit the ground. Just interesting old stories, how many are true I will never know, but they are good none the less.
