Hey all, hows every one doing. Been lurking off and on.
I have a request. I am looking for pictures of the trans mount, and cross member for a highboy, with a np435, divorced t case. I have purchased 2 one from local parts store and the other from Dennis Carpenter both listed for the truck. Both mounts appear to be to low. Removing the old mount was very difficult, like the mount was stretched to line up the cross bolt.
So i am thinking that the PO changed something cross member or ??. I also discovered the trans is resting on the middle cross member. A picture of your clearance will be helpful.
thanks Wes

Re: Trans mount blues
Thanks that looks very similar to what I have. Nice to get a view of the cross member w/o the trans. If you get a chance can you measure the mount from the cross bolt to the flat top
Thanks again

Re: Trans mount blues
Nice to see you back Wes!
Something I've seen plenty of times is the brakets that are riveted to the frame that the crossmember sits on, those buggers get their rivets cut out and they get dropped down or moved- For why? Not sure, because there was no reason for it in the trucks I had that it was done to. Something to check atleast. If those brackets are bolted instead of riveted they've been moved.

Re: Trans mount blues
Hey Dustin thanks for the tip, mine are still riveted. I have figured it out. The cross member is bolted on the wrong side of the brackets. Check Steve's 3rd picture and then look at this picture.

Re: Trans mount blues
I finally swapped the cross member in correctly. Then tired to put the new Dennis Carpenter mount in, no go. Here is a picture or two.
So the new mount I purchased from Dennis Carpenter carries part number C5tZ-6068-A
I did a search for the number on my mount no luck.
I ended up reinstalling the old split one. With the cross member in the correct location every thing line up better.
The trucks even seem smoother, and a high speed deceleration noise I had is less.
Now all I need to do is find a good mount.
