Pin that holds shifter to collar on a 3 speed
I ordered a new shift collar from LMC for my 1970 F100 3 speed. It did not come with a pin to hold the shifter on. My mistake, they list the pin separately . Ordered pin and it came in today, it's a common roll pin, not correct and will not work with the collar they sell, as it has different sized holes. Anyone know where I can get the correct pin? It will be different size on each end.

they screwed you. send the collar back. those aftermarket collars are a pain to find the pin for . i had to have one made for the extra collar i have. luckily. i had bought one from ebay that had the same collar pin that my other one took.

The pin in your pic looks like the one I need. You got it off ebay? Remember the seller?

Sounds like they sent you the pin for the automatic shifter Last time I checked, none of the big names sold just the pin. It only came with the shift collar. What happened to you is the reason I no longer do buisness with LMC. It's always something with them.
If you can find one on ebay I would go that route. The problem with the non FoMoCo shifters is they all take a different pin. If you have the time, I would send it back, get your money back & Get a FoMoCo unit from Dennis Carpenter. Rebuilding the 3 speed is alot easier with original stuff

I ordered the plastic thrust washers from LMC as well. Guess what? They came in a Dennis Carpenter package! From LMC! Made me think that the collar was procured from DC as well. So DC sells a genuine FoMoCo collar? The one I got from LMC was made in Taiwan.

i know the seller. but he only sells the collar with the pin. . so you have to buy the collar to get the pin. return the collar and get a collar from someone else. or call and ask lmc who they got the collar from. then maybe you can get a pin. if you find out who has those pins. let us know. the extra pins i had made. werent made with the flutes on the pin though. they couldnt do that. but they did make the shaft larger so as to make up the difference in the flutes.

Yup, DC sells the FoMoCo collar as well as the aftermarket collars. ALOT of LMC stuff is made by DC. More than likely they are DC's blems or 2nds.
The Good: If you go with DC, give them a call on the phone & order what you need. It's alot easier than serching for it on their website. They have always been super nice to me over the phone.
The bad: If you go with a FoMoCo collar, be ready to drop $100+ bucks on one.

Re: Pin that holds shifter to collar on a 3 speed
i emailed dc about the collar pin picture. and they said they didnt make the collars to accept those pins. so it isnt a dc collar and pin.
