Hi All,
I'm in the process of doing the rear main so i figured go ahead and have the flywheel resurfaced and put a new clutch kit in. I ended up buying a kit from Oreily's with lifetime warranty...for about $120. My question is that the pressure plate that came out was a diaphram type and the new kit has a lever type. The salesman said the lever type is better...more heavy duty. Is he right...what do you prefer? My truck is a 68 flatbed F250 with 240 and 4 speed. Couldn't find much in the search for this exact topic.
Thanks,
Travis

Re: Lever or Diaphragm Pressure Plate
Factory clutch should have been a lever type.
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something.--Plato
Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

According to http://www.competitionplus.com/03_25_20 ... univ2.html the lever type can have additional centrifugal loading.travmarks wrote:Hi All,

And yes, the master parts catalog shows a lever-type pressure plate. RockAuto has several kits of either type.
