Hello all, I'm hoping to get some help. I just purchased a 67 f100 and have matched the VIN plate to the VIN on the frame. The problem is that the tag was not physically attached to the truck when I purchased it and the info on the tag reads 131 inch wheelbase and three speed manual transmission. My truck has a 115 inch wheelbase and a four speed manual transmission. Has anyone ever heard of such? Is there a way to verify all info on the plate to just the VIN number stamped on the frame?
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

Thank you and I would agree except for the fact that the VIN number on the plate matches the one on the frame. The problem is the description for the wheelbase and transmission are incorrect. The plate reads 131 inch wheelbase and my truck is 115 and also has the letter for a three speed manual and I have a four speed manual. This whole thing is very weird. It's like someone had a different plate made with the incorrect information or it came from the factory that way. That's why I wanted to know if anyone knows how to verify the information on the VIN plate with just the VIN number and nothing else?
