Hey there- I've got a '67 F350 and I need to get her a plow- my only problem is that I dont really know anything about plows. I mean I dont know what to look for to put a plow on my truck, like what kind of mount, what kind of plow, what kind of hydrolic control or electric. Any help would be awesome...
Also found a craigslist add in my area for an 8' plow with the entire set up, harness, mounts, lights, all of it. Its on a late 80's blazer though, so Im assuming that the mounts and wiring wont be the same.
Haha- Im lost... help

Re: Need to Plow
I have absolutely NO experience with plows, but armed with a tape measure, measure your front frame horn dimensions and compare them to the mount dimensions on the plow from the Chebby Blazer. If reasonably close, I would assume you could adapt the plow to your Ford.
As far as the plow goes, is the Craigslist plow still attached to the Blazer? If so, ask the seller to demonstrate it for you. If not still attached, you're probably on your own...pig in a poke.
I hope more knowledgeable members will chime in for you.

Re: Need to Plow
ahh, i know.
Get the plow, get a blazer. Mount plow to newly acquired blazer. Take blazer and plow snow, until it rusts away, then your bump doesn't get harmed and one less chevy out there.
Just kidding.. although it is a possible scenario

Re: Need to Plow
So are you going to plow commercial or just a drive way or two.?
I've had good luck with Western.
The cable operated electric ones work good if they're set up right.
The newer all electric ones are faster, but they also cost more.
If you can weld and fabricate, these old Fords are pretty easy to adapt to.
In my area Western ,Fisher ,Meyer, and Boss seem to be the most popular.
If you're going to plow a lot I'd get an automatic and power steering.
Stay away from the ones that drive off your fan belts they're slow.

Re: Need to Plow
I'd check the website of the plow manufacturer .
maybe they have a sketch of a mount set up.
try '79 and older ford.

Re: Need to Plow
Here's a pic of my 72 ford with a Meyers plow set up. the frame mount cost about $800 but it looks like someone could fab up the mount easily.
