Hello, from Texas. I was a carpenter for 30 years and never have known too much about mechanic work. My son and I have decided to rebuild a 1981 f100 stepside that I've owned for many years. We put in a 289 that I bought from a longtime nieghbor. The motor had been overhauled and now is basically a 302. We are putting in a C4 tranny. We put in a edelbrock performer 4bbl intake and a edelbrock 1406 carb. Now, I'm having trouble hooking up the accelerator cable. I don't have the right intake bracket for the cable or the wrong cable. I bought the suggested adapter brackets . Anyway, thanks for letting me join.
