Newby from Spokane WA

Post by McQ »

Hello from North Spokane WA. Found this site by searching for the proper method to install a '64-older FE into a '68 F100. Obviously I found it! Excellent specific information on how to do the job. I'm currently pulling the nice 390 and C-6 from my F100 2wd. I will install this powertrain into my son's '63 Galaxie Country Squire wagon. Into my '68 will go my tried and proven '63 427 that will be backed by a Borg Warner T-85 with Overdrive that I'm sourcing from a '69 F100 Heavy Duty Special. The '69 F100 HD Special is complete but very worn and tired. It will provide every piece I'll need to convert my '68 to the stick & OD. This 427 I ran for a few years in a '60 Galaxie Sunliner and it's a great engine as you'd expect from a 427. My '68 F100 was purchased by my uncle new. He gave it to me at a very reasonable price in '86. Of all my cars it's the one vehicle I've owned the longest and have no intention of selling.

I'm pleased to have found this site dedictated to the '67-'72 Ford truck.

Thanks,
McQ

Good evening McQ,

It's nice to hear about your Fords--especially your son's Galaxie wagon and your 427. As you know, not many Bumpsides have 427's in them, so I know lots of guys here would be interested in photos if you have a chance to share them.
