WTB 69 highboy leveling kit, Who sells
Im looking for a 3" leveling kit for my 69 highboy. Havent been able to find one on the web yet and wondering where everyone get theirs from and how they like the way the lift feels and think of the service from the company. Would be a big help if you could post a link to. Perfer the 6 leaf pack of springs. Dont know what the normal lift of a leveling kit is but ive got 3" of rake on mine W/ 5k springs on the rear.

They sit pretty level when they are new. If you're down 3" in front sounds like your front springs are sagged pretty bad.

The front springs look fine IMO, the bushings are wore out. Someone replaced the rear springs with some heavy duty ones that are 3 5/8" thick (11 leafs), Plus its got 5 helper leafs. Im thinking about pulling some of the rear leafs out so the truck dosent ride like a wooden wagon. I would get a set of 2" lift springs if i could find them and pull 1/2" of springs out the rear. Heres a pic of the front springs.

My truck sits about the same. I was wondering about how Average250's truck sat with the low mileage springs? If possible could you post a picture Dustin?

Your springs still have some arch to them. Without seeing them in action, I'd say they're probably not worn out. It sounds to me like you've got way too much spring in the rear. I'll bet an old buckboard is smoother ridin than your truck.

Re: WTB 69 highboy leveling kit, Who sells
The front springs look fine to me but i want to lift the front, The rear springs were there when i bought it and i only rode in the truck one time before i bought it. When i rode in it the bed had 4000# of feed in it and the truck didnt squat, and to be honest it rode good. Empty i think it would beat my brains out I grow watermellons and sell them in the summer so im going to find out how the rear springs fell before pulling any out. I can jump up and down on the rear bumper to one side now and it only moves about 1/2" and i weigh 200#. Ive got 35x14.5 on the truck and its tight when i turn the wheel, got about 1/4" of clearance to the fender and need to lift the front. Since ive put the tires on i havent put the lower valance on so the fenders could be pulled in a little making it tight. Ill ajust the rear later after the truck gets back on the road. The only lift ive found was a single leaf (added to) thats 1" thick and give 2" of lift but i think that would make the truck ride like its on tracks. I need a lift Heres a pic before i pulled it apart to paint it.mlheppl wrote:Your springs still have some arch to them. Without seeing them in action, I'd say they're probably not worn out. Here's a link to fireguywtc's thread where he installed a leveling kit on the front of his highboy. It's got a link to the kit he got. IIRC he seemed very happy with the results.

Oh and by the way I am digging that photo of your truck. The black and orange combo looks nice even though it's not intended as a paint sheme. However I think you should start hauling pumpkins instead of watermelons. LOL J/K

Thanks. I like the look of it to with the primered front end to, looks tough for some reason LOL. I grow pumpkins, I was going to paint the truck back orange again and have "Pumpkinville Express" painted in black on the doors. But im painting it white for now to get the truck on the road and make everything right before i put the "good" paint job on it. Ill check out fireguywtc thread and see what he used, Thanks for the link.

That is a very good price forboth leaf springs, plus free shipping! Never bought anything from them, or even heard of them for that matter. If you end up buying from them, let us know how things work out.

That seems good. I bought the kit which included all the new hardware like the u-bolts and all of the new polyurethane bushings. Total was about $600.

My '70 was a 7700 300 six truck originally. Had around 400K on it when I got it with the 34X7.50 17's that Pacific Power put on it in 1969. It had a hard life and still sat level, The tops of the 34" tires were even with the top of the lower body line.
