Nearly 3000 Topics On the Wall

Post by 70_F100 »

Guys, as many of you know, I've been given the position of moderator on this forum.

There's a lot of information here that needs to be parsed and/or made more easily available for all of you.

I'm going to borrow something from Ranchero50, rather than create something new and confusing, so here goes:
Ranchero50 wrote:Take one down, pass it around and either Trash it , Link it , Archive it , or FAQ it

Hey folks, this is the official 'Where did my post count go' thread.

The end goal is to pare down the 'Engine' subforum by Trashing irreverent threads, Posting up good links that have come up in the threads, build an Archive database for searching and build a FAQ database for answering the easy questions. Hoping to kill off the idle chatter in the good threads as well to make coherant logical troubleshooting and engine building topics that will help keep our trucks on the road.

Duckryder and myself will be wading through six years of threads so it's going to take a while before we get down to a rolling 90 day list of active topics.

Ranchero50 and DuckRyder have cleaned out close to 2500 posts in just a few days. That is a major accomplishment and I take my hat off to these guys!!!!

Keith and I are currently the only moderators for this forum, with close to 3000 posts, so the names in the quote don't apply, and this one will be directed toward drivetrain issues/questions/problems. Everything else does. By that same token, the moderators in each forum work as a team, so Fordification (Keith), DuckRyder (Robert), Thunderfoot (Shayne), Ranchero50 (Jamie) and Doug Comer (Doug) will be regularly consulted for help and opinions to make things work smoother (along with any otthers that may be added). Each of you is welcome to comment, too, either in a post or a PM.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your understanding and support as I make an attempt to help make this portion the of Fordification site something that we can all enjoy more fully, and that is a better resource for everyboty!!!

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

People who take on these thankless tasks of management deserve a special place in both the present and afterworld. This forum has been an incredible teaching platform for me, and I have gleaned a great deal of knowledge from the "real Guys". I thank all of you for your tolerance of my idiotic questions and ready advice. I may even have contributed one or two tidbits. However, in the grand scheme of things, storing data such as dipstick length on a C4 transmission, which I posted a few minutes ago, is pretty much filling up the air: it has literally no value to anyone except to the one person who really needs to know, which is a get-and-go-and-throw- it- away piece of data. A clean garage is a happy garage. Sift and winnow with savagery.

Thanks to all of you, and now, if I could just figger out how to get over 12mpg with my 3.70 rear end, 1bbl carter carb, 300 I6 and C4 trans... But thanks to you, I can learn. Regards, Gleno

I'll be doing a rebuild of my C6 here soon if your looking for a how to on disassembly, reassembly, including installation of a shift correction improvement kit. I'll be using a haynes automatic rebuild guide and I bought an ATSG manual from the company I got my kits from. If that is something you would like to post in the faq, I would be happy to write one up.
