tranny question

Post by tmcalavy »

I've got a line on a good 300 I-6 and a C4 tranny to swap into my 69 F250 with 360 and C6 tranny. Got to wondering today if I will need to do any mods to make the shift linkage that's on my truck now work with the C4. I have the standard column shift...will the linkage mate to the C4?

Thanks fordman, so the linkage will work but with some adjustment on the shift rods? I haven't bothered to crawl under the truck and look to see how the shift linkage/mechanism works. This is all new to me as I've never owned a Ford truck with an auto tranny...always had standards in the past.

you have to move your engine perches as well, luckily the mounting holes are already there :)
