Re: My 1972 F-100 Feb15 update
The shop is coming along slowly, shingles and siding are on so it looks complete from the outside (except no lights). Inside, floor was poured in early December, radiant heater is up, just waiting on the lazy electrician to finish so I can insulate and finish inside......Oh wait, that lazy electrician is me
Should have that done this weekend!
Unfortunately my truck hasn't changed. I have been collecting more parts for the stroker engine, and I have a painless wiring kit on order, but the body work is at a stand still. Hope to get some progress soon, but I have been saying that for almost a year. What I am really hoping for is to get a new job, should get an interview in the next couple weeks and if I get it I will make a lot more cash so my project will get another kick start.
Anyway guys, thanks for digging my thread out of the bottom of the pile, I will take some pics of the shop tomorrow in the daylight.

Re: My 1972 F-100 Apr17 update
I am back!!
I spent the last 2 weekends working on the truck. Mostly just focused on getting the box finished up. Did the final welding along the inside edge of the new wheel tubs, then we cut a fuel door to access the Mustang tank, and of course I forgot to take a picture with the fuel door actually installed
Here are a few shots of the progress:
Final welding done on wheel tub
Both wheel tubs welded in and fuel door hole complete
Close up of fuel door hole
Shot of fuel door, it is just a fuel door from a 1980 F-150 with the piece cut out of the box added to it. I will get some installed pics soon!!
Underside of box after scuffing/cleaning etc.
Starting the undercoating
Couple of complete shots

Looks great! I wish I had a big shop like yours. It's funny, I had no idea you could buy undercoat in different colors. That's gonna be pretty cool!

Re: My 1972 F-100 Apr17 update
Wow, almost a year has gone by and I am finally ready to take another stab at my project. Hopefully I will get motivated this time. I haven't been on the site much because it is depressing when you aren't making any progress on your own project. The good news is I did get the new job, so things are going well, just been tied up on other ventures.
The pictures above were taken at a friends shop where we were doing the work, but that guy has since ran into some issues so I had to get my project out of there. Fortunately I have another friend who is a bodyman who is willing to help me out, and I can continue learning from a pro while completing my truck so I consider myself very fortunate.
The new painter is a bit of a bumpside lover too. He had a 1969 F-100 years ago, his son has a 1968 with a 460 that he drag races, and he also now has a 1967 F-100 that he drag races. In order to give him some room in his garage I offered to store his truck in my garage over the long canadian winter. Here are some pics I would like to share of his truck. It is one that he "slapped together" 1 week before a drag race that he wanted to take it to, if mine turns out this good I will be thrilled.
In the background of the first 2 you can see pieces of mine up on the shelf ready to go...depressing!
Then I had to see how it looked with my Gen 1 lightning wheels that I may use on my own truck, not too bad in my opinion.
Anyway, I am headed to his place this weekend to spend a few days on it, hope to crawl out from under my rock and get some action happening again!
Cheers!

Re: My 1972 F-100 Apr17 update
After reading back I realized I never did update my shop pics, obviously it is pretty much complete. As you can tell in the pics it is basically all complete, maybe I should clean up my mess and take some pics of that. It has been eating up lots of my free time but it is finally at a point where I am happy with it and can move on to something else. You can also see my frame in the last pic collecting dust hopefully not for long

Welcome back! If that truck was just slapped together I want to see a full off resto by that guy . Those lightning wheels look great on a bump.

Re: My 1972 F-100 Apr17 update
Couldn't agree more, his truck looks fine.....but he is a perfectionist so he thinks it could be better. I do like the lightning wheels, I prefer the look of a five spoke wheel something like a torque thrust but I already have the lightning wheels so that is what I will go with.
