It's been quite some time sincw I have posted images of 70 4X4 restoration of truck for show. The project will be done in the next couple of months. This some of the work so far.
That's one of the cleanest looking 4x4 Bumpside projects I've ever seen. I guess you won't have the heart to crash through any swampy mud pits when it's on the road!
May I know your thoughts on the aftermarket head-liner? I've seen that one in a few Bumpsides and wondered about it. How well did it fit? Did you have to spend time playing around with it, or did it fit perfectly on the first try?
Hi Robroy,
This truck although a 4X4 will never be driven on a dirt road, we have much to many dollars invested. We have others dedicated for the mud. This will be 100% show. As for the head-liner. I will say it was a very good design, a direct fit.
As you can see no expense is being spared right down to the ppg base and concept 2021 clear buffed to a high luster. Detroit lockers front and rear. The bed sides were replaced with new upgrade style ends. Even the oak flooring has 15 coats of clear.Tail gate chains removed with internal locks and tail gate supports. I have 66 tail lites to install, I think they add more naustalgia to the truck. The correct ones look too much like trailer lites. Had to go with 16" wheels to allow for caliper clearance. The list goes on and on. I will be posting more images as more work is complete. Will be installing core support and grill next week, fenders and bed last. Waiting for 4wheel disc brake booster should be in soon. Thank you for your compliment..
All I can say is "WOW". I can't wait to see the finished product. Please keep us all posted with your progress and pics.

Great looking truck!!
Did you go with factory air conditioning? The reason I ask is it looks like a Classic auto air kit to me based on how it has the hoses through the inner fender.
Thank you dantheman71,
The a/c system is from Classic Auto Air,made for this truck, well designed and great people to deal with.
The bulkhead fittings didn't come with kit. Added to dress up appearance under hood.
It was the average driver, locally owned since new. Painted 4 times usual rot and rust. Bed floor replaced with steel plate.
Core support under battery almost gone.
