Hi

Post by Effie »

New here. Girl in GA...so far west of Atlanta, I call it "Almost Alabama." Haha.

I bleed blue and have a '66 F100 I restored, its my baby, my love. I've also got a '78 Bronco. I've known about this site for years, but I've gotten away from the internet and forums and such and just don't read or join forums like I used to.

Anyhow...so I've got this '68 F100. It has a family history, my dad's cousin bought it new. My brother has fond memories of riding between my cousin and my dad going to the Kwik-E mart to get a slurpie. So when the time came, the truck was passed to my brother. However "Moe" had been wrecked on the driver's side...and we really didn't have time for projects.

So then the bad-mojo started. The truck is a Ranger XLT and had a perfect, nice, factory seat which my brother proceeded to loan to his father-in-law that bought a '70 with no seat. And of course, truck gets sold to "friend" who then sells the truck again and no amount of cussing, fighting or arguing can said seat now be located -or did he even bother to pay brother for seat. Brother is disgusted. Truck is taking up space and lookin run down in back yard. "Moe" needs to find a home.

He puts it on me because I'm the Ford Fan of the family - dad and brother are MoPar freaks, we can't all have good judgement. Anyhow..so yeah, I inspect said truck...it would be a huge undertaking for someone needing a project, so I salvage the good stuff, the rest got carried to the crusher. Now I hope to pass on the remaining parts of Moe to someone who can use some good stuff.

R.I.P Moe. :(

But yeah, I'm here. I know Ford stuff and I hope to help some of ya'll out...either with info, or parts. *shrug*

Oh and I work at a Ford dealership in the parts department. We got any other "parts number dummies" on here? Haha. It comes in handy sometimes to help break down numbers or run things on the locator.

Welcome from Santa Cruz Ca :wel: sorry to hear about your truck and your seat. that would seem to be a aggrivating situation. Who knows maybe you will get another "bump" to use your parts on?

We already carried off the frame and engine. :(

Besides, my brother said no more projects til we finish what we've got.

I gotta finish my '78 Bronco, I've got a set of axles and a lift to go under it, as well as a billet gauge cluster and all Autometer gauges. Stuff I've had over a year or more.

Then the Slick...I've gotta sell this stuff, so I can buy a new set of aluminum trim for it. And get the seat recovered, also need to do the power disc brakes.

I don't wanna start a new thread and be a total newb - what Auto trans was behind the 360FE in this '68? I know its an aluminum case? Is it a C6? Thought about putting it in place of the FMX in my Slick.

78 bronco nice. Be sure to check out the sister site fordification.net id imagine they would have tons or good resources for you. I have a 79 f150 4x4 i had in high school sitting in the barn for a rainy day. I know how it is to have to many projects. somtimes you gotta send some stuff down the road. that 68 with a FE should have had a c6 behind it.

Surely ya'll have had Ford Truck Girls on here before? I know I'm not the only smart one out there.

But yeah, it kinda makes me the black sheep when it comes to the family. I got it from my brother-in-law. The first time I hung out with them in his '66 longbed at the F100 Supernationals, I was hooked. First truck was my old blue '65. I've only driven Ford trucks since then....well, I did have a few months with a Dodge Pickup, but we don't like to talk about that.
