35's on steelies

Post by 1971ford »

Does anyone have pictures of 35's mounted on original 16" steel rims?

How wide are the original 16s? Does anyone make a 35" tire narrow enough to fit on them?

You have a point.
I thought steelies were 7" in which case a 35x12.5 would be a perfect match up but just checked my steelies and stamped on the front is 16x6 so I'm willing to be it's a no-go

You put a 12.5 tire on a 7" wheel? Seams like it'd be real easy to seat the bead, but doesn't it look rediculous?

I believe my aluminum rims on the race truck are 7.5" and they look perfect, I hate the look of fat tires on any truck.

I'm going to try 33x10s on my stock steelies when I can get the front lifted. If you use a 255/85r16, it comes out to 33x10. They are popular with Jeep guys, but I think they look real good on older stuff too.

255/85r16s on these trucks really look good. they fill up the space real well and give the truck a good looking stance.IMO

I agree. 33's on stock height or 2" leveling springs up front look fantastic.

Those come out to 33x10 so i'm thinking they'd fit on stock steelies

Heres the pic of the truck that lives in town with 255/85r16s its not a great pic. took it with my old razor on my lunch but you get an idea how high it sits off the ground its totally stock. They give it a good looking stance though.

I have seen a few guys using steel wheels for spares on 90s F series with 315-75-16s but they look funny and its not something I would run everyday.
