I'm new here!

Post by Bullit »

I just joined and I gotta tell ya....there's so much experience here that I feel SO MUCH more confident in my project truck!
I live in the Seattle area and have a '68 F100 Shortbed. I learned from this site about converting to disc brakes and I found
the parts and am currently cleaning/POR-15'ing them and they look great so far! I even found some of the '75 disc dust-shields
and have those at the blasters/powder-coaters. I feel incredibly fortunate that my '68 is in as good a shape as it is after
looking what some of you are working with! I commend some of you for taking on some of those challenges... I waited and
found "SHORTY" in Oregon last summer. Pretty decent shape and a few rusty spots that gotta be repaired (back lower cab corners).
Anyway... I just wanted to say "HI" and thanks to ALL for your tips and tricks..
While I'm here.. Any suggestions on filling that line that runs the length of the bed above the "bump"? Getting the rust out?
Sealing it from rust in the future?
Thanks,
Bullit

:wel: from SoCal. You can either weld that seam (very tedious and time consuming) or scrape out the seam sealer, sandblast the seam, then primer, re seam seal and paint.
