Hi guys,
My buddy's and I installed my C6 yesterday. Took all afternoon and was a big pain!
Anyways we were not sure on the torque converter torque specs (4 nuts)
and the bell housing to fe block specs (6 bolts)
We just got them tight but not over tight because ive already broke a C6 housing a few months before doing this install.
Never mate the two by threading them together! It is very tight but it will go.
Anyone help me out on this?
Thanks!

Re: C6 Installation Torque Specs
Just pull them down tight with a 3/8 drive ratchet , and you shouldn't have too worry about over tightening them.
you've already learned about too tight.

Re: C6 Installation Torque Specs
Once you have the transmission tight against the engine, if you get them to about 40 ft-lbs, you should be good to go.
Like already stated, a 3/8 drive ratchet will do it.
You're not going to break anything unless it isn't aligned right.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Beauty! Thanks alot guys. I was able to find that the flex plate to crankshaft spec is 75-85 ft pounds. So I was going to do the torque converter to flex plate the exact same.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Tranny to engine block takes 7/16-14 bolts. Usually about 33 ft/lbs.
Converter to flexplate is 3/8-24. About 25 ft/lbs.
Just tighten them with a 3/8 ratchet. You'll get them tight enough...

Haha ok I won't crank anything that tight. Since everything is already snug with 3/8 then I will call it good. Thanks guys!

Re: C6 Installation Torque Specs
I have another quick question. Turns out my shift lever on the tranny was installed backwards. Realizing this after I got the tranny in the truck I had to pull the pan then the valve body in order to back the nut off and flip it around. My question is what is the torque for the 8 valve body bolts? Im sure its inch pounds but I do not know what the exact torque it is. Also, I know I installed it right because I can run the shifter arm through all 6 selections but I do not think I got the kickdown in the right spot. I am told it should have a spring feel too it but it just feels loose with lots of movement.
Any ideas?
Thanks guys
