1980 Clark swap
Hello all, I'm new to your group and need some help. I have a 1980 Ford F-100 with the Clark 4 speed OD manual transmission. Out of no where second gear syncronizer completely failed. This truck has the 2.75 rear end gears and is next to worthless with this combination. If I'm going to remove this transmission I'd rather replace it with a 5 speed. Where I live is very hilly. I find myself with the motor screaming in 2nd gear and not enough power to transition to 3rd. Can someone offer a swap that directly bolts in? Best, Steve

Re: 1980 Clark swap
I'm not aware of any Clark transmission used in an F100.
If the tranny is one of the few different OD transmission used in the late 70's early 80's then your truck must be a small block or six truck? If so, use an M5R2.
3.00's or 3.25's will work much better than 2.75's though.
