Is that an Explorer package?

it has the explorer badges on the bed. however, it is a base-model truck w/ a six-stick, no PS, PB, AC, or anything else. there is no excess chrome. i'm guessing no.

Your truck has been de-chromed. The Ranger and Explorer packages were similar. My 69 Ranger does not have A/C, but it has P/S because it's also a Camper Special. My Ranger is original with all the trim still and I still don't see what the big deal is. It has some imitation wood grain in the cab, and not enough to matter. I think your Explorer, like the Ranger, came with a cloth seat, instead of vinyl. Maybe a carpet instead of a plastic mat.

after my last post, i did the research. it seems that my truck is an explorer. it is a mid-year tuck w/ the proper color. the thing that confuses me is that besides the color code ("X" for goldenrod, which it is) and the explorer badges on the bed, there is not another option on this truck that is conducive to the explorer package.

the only thing i can figure is that maybe ALL trucks made mid-year were explorers. IDK. maybe one of you guys can help me out here.

You say you are not going to restore it, but I can tell you now that when you get into it you will. It will start with one thing, that will turn into another and then another before you know it, you will have it all done.. Welcome
