Hey Steve! The power steering is working great. I still say it's the best mod I've done to her. I can't thank you enough! How's your truck doin?

Good evening Joe,
Those panels look absolutely fantastic. I like the way they contrast with the darker colors! Well done.
Please forgive me if you've mentioned this already, but may I know what method you used to apply that white? And that's official Wimbledon White, right? It looks perfect whatever it is.

Thanks Robroy! That is indeed official Wimbledon White. It's just Duplicolor spray paint from the auto parts store. I've gotten pretty handy with the spray bombs over the years and I can lay it down pretty smooth. Duplicolor is made to match factory colors and they have a book there so that you can look up just about any color you want. The can is actually labeled "Ford Wimbledon White". All the chain parts stores carry it to my knowledge.robroy wrote:Good evening Joe,

Thanks again for the compliments! I think once I get the F600 gauges and a headliner in the same color it will really come together nicely.

Wow, I think that looks sweet. The white really stands out with a classic look. I think you definitely made the right choice with the wimbledon white!

Thanks Doug! Wait until you see my $800 reupholstered seats. I've spent much less on entire cars...Doug Comer wrote:This is painful to watch. Looks good.

I really want to see your $800 seats! I'm eventually getting mine done but trying to keep it under $300 for a stock look. I'm envious of all the progress you've made and how great your interior is coming together!fomocoguy wrote:Thanks Doug! Wait until you see my $800 reupholstered seats. Well, not much for today except that the gauges are ready to go. I'm going to swap out the alt gauge for a voltage gauge sooner or later and I need to clean up and wire the flasher switch, but it's going in as is for now. Tomorrow I'll have about 8 straight hours to work on it so I should get quite a bit done. Here's the gauges:

Glad to hear it!! My truck has been nothing more than a daily driver this last year. I divorced my wife of 22 years so I lost my shop. All in all a pretty good trade......I sold most all of my tools and shop equipment off and got remarried to a woman I used to work with. I was secretly nuts about her and waited 15 years to finally tell her. I am SO MUCH HAPPIER now!!! I will never sell my Ford and will have to have someone else paint it now instead of myself. BTW how much did that F600 cluster set you back? I have a friend that is parting a 68 F600 and has the identical setup in it. I told him to pull it out and I would try to sell it for him.

Thanks guys!
Steve, I got my cluster for $20, but it was from an old junk yard around her with notoriously good prices on old parts. If you put your buddies on ebay it would probably bring 3 times that if it's in nice shape. Sorry to hear you lost your shop, but if your happier now than that's all that matters, right? Build a new shop when you can and you'll be twice as happy as you were!

Re: 69 crew highboy UPDATE: 1/12/11 instruments ready
Well, today I brushed and installed all the sills and such. They were pretty rough, but new ones aren't in the budget for now, so I just hit them with a wire wheel. I also installed the glovebox, passenger armrest, wiper switch, pedal rubber, and instruments. The BIG news is that my seats are done! I picked them up, as well as stuff to do the headliner. They turned out great! I had him do a map pocket on the front seat just like my old seat covers had and had him cover the backs too. Check it out:
Unfortuneatly I won't be able to work on it much till next week I think; I'm working tomorrow and it's me and the kiddo all weekend while the gal's workin.
