4x4's in action

Post by 1971ford »

Lets see your 4x4 (or 2wd prerunner  ) doing something that a 2wd can't do
Unfortunately with my broken hub I have not had a single chance to get my highboy's freshly painted chassis dirty so no pics from me just yet. Next week.

I better not see any poser shots, keep that in the 4x4 pictures thread

I haven't really had the chance to test mine yet. The motor is still not quite perfectly running for me.

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?

on the way to playing in the dirt we made a pit stop. I must admit my parking job was a little off, I'll try to stay in the lines next time.

*for the record, I was all the way ontop of the stupid thing then Let off the brake and started coming down when my buddy took the pictures, oh well there's always next time lol

Then I proceeded back into a sweet photo spot. Of course I had to get pulled out by my buddy's izusu rodeo. 4lo and 4 good 35" tires really does you no good with open diffs. Definitely hunting for posi now.

From here, I thought it would be cool to prop a wheel up on a rock and get another cool picture... sell stupid me forgot that the front left tire is the one 35 that doesn't have a lot of tread (its like 25%) and with mud on it it just slipped off the rock. Don't worry though, my tie rod broke the fall. I have a little extra toe-in now. Guess I better fix that tomorrow.

These arn't the action shots I was looking for but were going to the OHV park within a few days and they have a full obstacle coarse, and a lot of hill climbs.

So do I... a little too much.
Still going to rock the original rim/31.5's though until they go bald. They have a lot of life left in them though, and they're good tires. And I have six of them lol

Only question now is when i go with 35's do i go with aluminum rims or do I rock the original steelies I have finally found 5 of and are nice and pretty. Hmm

if only i had a camera crew with me during all my wheeling adventures. especially ripping a mistibushi montero out of an icy ditch in 2ft of snow... then rescuing him again one night in some EXTREME trails.

it was to the point i couldn't back out of the trail so i had no choice but to muscle through the whole trail which im not sure a quad could even get through.. did it without issue. i had a guy riding with me and he slammed his head into the roof a couple times if that tells you how hard i had to plow through these ruts. the mitsubishi also made it through but only cause i took the wheel and had to claw the ruts sideways. now i miss my bump more damn it

I fixed one of my broken lock-outs today the "bean" still needs some carb and timing adjustments but I did play in the snow some.
