First Post - pic of my 69/70 truck

Post by 390bump »

Hi!

First post. Here is a pic of my truck. I am second owner. Had it around 17 years. Under 60K original miles.

Built in San Jose CA. Registration says 1970 but VIN# says 1969. Has 69 grill but bed is a 1970. All original - was built that way! BTW, VIN # is higher than the VIN#s listed in the Ford Truck Book I have...

Welcome from So Cal.

Nice! Original paint still. Looks like it had a camper on it before.

Thanks Josh!

Yeah, this truck was snuck out the door late 69... they must of run out of 69 beds and out on a 70. Pictures are from last year. I cleaned up the light surface rust with zinc primer. Should take new pics. Truck also has the cool contractor's box on the passenger side of the bed.

Didn't have a camper but it did have 4 hooks to tie down a tarp or whatever... took them off. Thinking of putting them back but can't find them in my garage! BTW, it is a 390 with 3 on the tree and manual steering/brakes. And yes, original Boxwood Green paint. Will either keep truck and get it painted someday or sell as is... Wife says sell but I say NO

:fr: from Phelan SoCal. Interesting build info. My '70 F250 was built in San Jose in September 1969 but it's all '70 correct... grill, bed gas tank filler location, chrome column shifter, etc. etc. Funny how that works.

Howdy from Houston, Texas :fr: Not really a fan of the side moldings ( they hide that beautiful bump) but over all great truck! Good luck with convencing the wife to keep it. Tell her 98% of the farmers and ranchers in the states can't be wrong!
