I have access to most of the tools including an end-mill. It's nice to talk about, but it's starting to sound like more work than I'm interested in doing. I think I would rather have a stick anyway. A 5-speed with granny low and OD should work well. And we know what the efficiency rating will be. :)

I'm with you. Shy of going with the bolt on OD it's just not worth it to me to go through the trouble getting, modifying, and building any automatic transmission when I can get a five or six speed manual then have overdrive, more gears, and a sore left leg in traffic.

Sore leg. Lol Ultimately a manual would be my preference as well after talking about this w you folks. That and taller tires and 3.54s in the dana60.
