Re: Need expert opinions on this Perfection brand clutch kit
i would say that depends on what kind of truck you will be putting the kit into.i would not use it in a 4x4 or anything that has more then stock horse power.i myself like the hays clutch kits very well made cost more but heavy duty and will out last most others if you dont abuse them.and whatever clutch kit you use make sure to have your flywheel machined.just my

I put one in mine. '70 Sport Custom, 302, 3spd manual column shift. Served me well for 3 years. Then my clutch pivot fork bracket broke. Thought it was the clutch at first but when I pulled it out, the disc and pressure plate surface still looked new. Replaced it anyway while I had the transmission out but the housing got nicked by the pivot fork. It functioned well, never chattered (I had the flywheel machined before install) and had negligible wear after 3 years. Throw out bearing was smooth and quiet. Clutch operation smooth and uniform. If I'm just replacing stock with stock, I'd buy it again.

It is an OEM grade clutch. How does the price compare to other stock clutches? I would expect it be just like all the other OEM grade clutches.

That is good to hear. Thank you for the feedback. I will be having the flywheel machined and, while the tranny is out, the two drive shafts balanced.sargentrs wrote:I put one in mine. Well, there is a Brute Power kit on Amazon for about the same price, but I recently purchased over $100 from Advanced Auto, so they will be e-mailing me a $50 off my next $100 purchase. The kit is $115 there, so that weighs heavily on my decision. Also, the other day I got an email to review the products I bought (an AGM battery for my bike and Iridium plugs). I clicked on the battery to review but the site was down. They asked me to enter my email so they could let me know when it was back up. They sent an email and, because I tried to access the site when it was down, they gave me a code for $20 off my next $100 purchase... Soooo, after I apply the $50 off I will buy some more things to get it back up to $100 to get the additional $20 off.
