Re: Hey :)
I was just asking myself today, of all days, if there was any females doing a resto. You will find this website full of people with a ton of advise and knowledge. Just ask away and you will get a lot of different things that have worked for many people, so you can make a good choice. And the best part, not one person on here will make fun of you at all. Welcome and please post pics as you start to restore your truck. Good to have you as a member

Next time you go to a parts store, (get your info here first, cuz this is gonna be good!

Seriously. Especially if there are other people around. Watched a girl do that once, and she got instant respect from then on, especially from the store manager.

Re: Hey :)
Its sad that just because women are working on a resto, that some people think that they do not know what they are doing. Hell, I have seen women work or CHIP FOOSE, that should tell you something.

Re: Hey :)

Back in the 80's when I was doing the cruzin thing (man I am dating myself here

Until she started it up.
The interior of the car had been gutted, no back seat, trunk was gutted, no headliner, all of the dash and extra wiring was removed in favor of a machined aluminum face plate with the usual gauges (fuel, oil pressure, water temp, voltage, tach, speedo) but nothing else except for the headlight switch, key, and push button starter. Looking closer you notice there are no windshield wipers, and the posts they would normally attach to are absent. Carpet was gone, no passenger seat, and on and on. ALL business.
Under the hood was an impressively built 426 hemi. Again, all business. No power steering, no a/c, no smog crap, and 2 carbs sitting on top.
She was 22 yrs old (at the time) and had built the car herself, with the help of her father. Car ran low 12's at the strip (she would switch to M.T. slicks) and I will NEVER forget the look of the idiot who was talking smack to her about his 305 Vega. All she had to do was start up the car and I think he suddenly found himself needing to change his undershorts.

Never underestimate the power of perseverance!
