It's happened to a lot of people from what I hear. When they buy a 67 their significant other gets pregnant soon after. Glad to hear your wife is supportive, it always makes things MUCH easier.

Here is a fast update to keep you all glued to the computer screen. I started to plug up holes all over the truck, as I am removing molding as well as working on the (what seems like) 50 holes on the bed rails from lumber racks. The price of the moldings are was to much for a working guy like myself so they are coming off, all of them. The tail light bezels are $65 each so I have decided to make it all flush with no chrome at all, it will look great when done and I will post pics as well. See you in a couple days.

Looks good, you pluged the holes with JB Weld? I thought about doing that on a truck I used to have.

Yes I used JB weld and it works real good. Im almost done with the passenger side and will start with the drivers next week. There are some air holes after you sand the extra off just like bondo, but ill tell you that when I was done with the primer I could not find the holes anymore.

The project looks like it is going well. Keep up the good work. Any idea what color the blue is on the truck? Is it the harbor blue??

I think that is is but never found out. I am going to paint it a dark grey outside, with a semi gloss or a flat grey same color inside. I saw that on a truck that looked real good. Inside will be spray can for me.

Ok Kids,

Here it is. To keep this post going, I put up some pics of the started body work. Man what a long process just to plug up some holes but worth it to me. I will have this side done by tomorrow I think, and I will post the finished product soon. I also tightened up the steering to get all the play out of it today as well.

UPDATE!!! The bed will be coming off soon to check out the rust damage, and to start sanding the frame and rebuilding what needs to get done. Pics will follow when it starts.

Start soaking the bed bolts way in advance. Don't forget the two at the rear that do not go through the bottom of the bed. Might help to get a friend to stand on the bolt heads in the bed so they don't push up and come out of the square notches

Hey, thanks i did not know about the other 2 in the back. Im gonna soak them with WD40 for a week, just spray them down. I have about 6 or 7 people help me take the thing off. Thanks for the TIP

Nice build! Have you ever had a problem with the JB Weld not staying in the holes or cracking?

WD40 is a water displacement fluid it will work ok but I would get a good penetrating oil / lube to soak them in.

Thanks for the tip Marine, as for the JB weld. I have not had a problem yet, I make sure to counter sink the holes so the JB has something to grip to. Also the holes are not to big to start with.
