shift linkage

Post by cozadlance2 »

so i go to work friday night and park. I see i missed the space by a bit and shift to reverse to back up and center on the parking space better. "pop" "clunk" I am in reverse but when i go for drive the column shift is mush and i am still in reverse. shut her off and take a look... shift linkage on the c6 is hanging limp. sooooo, i use a washer and baling wire to put it back on. For now, it works, but i want to fix it right. is the thingy that holds the shift arm from the column onto the linkage called an "e-clip" or a "snap clip" as I am told they are different and I must use the correct one or it'll just break again. thanks much.

i love you guys. thanks. I could figure it out myself, but the peace of mind in being able to ask the more experienced for backup and reassurance is what, in my opinion, made this website (and america) what it is. thanks.
