I have a 3 on the tree in my 70 F100. It has overdrive in 2nd gear that is activated around 45mph by letting off the accelerator. 3rd gear drops down to what I call a passing gear if you punch the gas. Well, Saturday I was driving it and, at first, noticed it was having issues going into 3rd. I then noticed that the 2nd gear and 3rd gear scenarios mentioned above were not working as well. Any ideas what the issue(s) could be?
Thank you in advance,
Steven

To be sure, that picture is from the firewall located right in front of the driver side, correct?fordman wrote:it is probably one of these components. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... ntrols.jpg
Also, would this also be the cause of it being difficult to shift into 3rd?
