Guys, I think whoever owned my truck before me put 78 or 79 axles under it but I'm not sure. Cant I find out by the casting numbers?

the78/79 axles are wider than the 67-72 axles. does it look like the spring perches have been moved? because if it were a 73 and up axle the spring perches would have to be moved to fit under our narrower frames.

Depends. If its a f150 or f250. F250 axles will bolt right in. F150 needs the perches moved.

Well it does have the perches moved over for our narrower frame but I was hoping to figure out what they came out of by the casting numbers

if it is a dana check out the links to dana that was given. read the numbers and check out what you have. i fit is a 9 inch about the only thing you can do is pull the center out and read the numbers on the teeth and count the axle splines and number of teeth on the ring and pinion.
