Looking good, Bill. Can't wait to see more pics. Since you put the rubber between the bed and the frame, you may have to put some kind of ground strap from the frame to the bed so that the rear lights have something to ground to (not sure the bolts will be enough to ground if everything is painted before assembly). Nice work

Thanks guys. I am currently working on getting some estimates to get the body work done that I do not have the skills to do, like the dents in the roof and such, and have the truck painted. The black on tan seems to be a big hit with everyone I tell about it. Hopefully the truck will be on the way to a body shop within the next week or so and then I will set my sights on building up the motor and drive train so it is ready when I get back. Then I figure I have only the finishing touches to work on including wiring, intierior, and other small stuff like all the lights and such.

Bobby that is a good point, I didn't think about it when I put the rubber down. I guess we will see but I figure the bolts and contact made at the rear would be sufficient. That theory may hold up as long as I can keep rust and dirt away. If push comes to shove though, I suppose I could always run a ground strap in the rear.

The truck left for the body shop last night. Its going to get all the stuff done that I couldn't do to it and its new paint job, black on tan or gold, just like my 07. Grill and bumpers will also be the tan/gold color as well. He is also going to delete my in cab gas tank hole and weld in a fuel door on the bed side. I as super excited and can't wait to get it back. I think its going to be about 2 months or so but its all kind of tenative at this point. In the mean time I will be working on getting the engine ready and finding the trans and other stuff so its ready when I get it back. Still have a long ways to go, but progress non the less.

Thank you all for the complements! I really appreciate it.

I visited the the old girl in the body shop the other day to drop off a couple of parts and I snapped some pics of her progress. Cab roof is fixed, cab gas hole is filled, new gas door is installed, and some other body work has been done like touching up the cab corners. Not too much further to go before paint.

Sorry, I am vacationing/elk hunting in Oregon. It will be a couple of weeks before another update. The truck is still at the body shop though.
