i think it's in the suspension because there was an f750 bus parked next to the f600 i got the fenders from and they sat the same.

I've got a 59 F-600, and was thinking about putting a late model dually bed on it. Saw a pic of a peterbilt done that way one time, with the aluminum fuel tanks on the side, looked real cool.

I had a though from a guy here who is putting f600 front fenders on his f100 stepside. he is cutting the bed down the centerline i think and widening it to match the wider f600 fenders. maybe something similar could be done to fabricate a dually type bed that matches the styling of the 67-72 model trucks.
I plan on removing the dual tanks on my F750 as well or at least removing one and relocating the other. I'd certainly be willing to part with them for a 20 gallon or somewhat larger replacement fuel tank or fuel cell.

Just my I would Keep the front fenders and modify a bed to put on it. Maybe find some more front fenders like the ones you have and make some dually wheel wells out of them. Should be fairly easy to cut the wheel well out of a bed and graft a patch panel to smooth out where it was. The modified fenders for wheel wells would make it easier to hide mods to the actual bed for your tire clearance. Not sure if it makes sense written out but It looks good in my head

If theres room maybe even a second set of dualies of course you'd need a front set that has a driveline pass through so both could be hooked up. then it could have a 4x4 rear setup like the newer ones.

A Flareside bed would be easier to make. Could possibly make a flat bed that you can fasten the bed sides to and take off easily for when you needed to....

Could even leave in the fifth wheel or even adapt it to one of the removeable fifth wheels. so it would be ready for any project in a moments notice.
Heck if i had one and i could get it repaired to above current standards i'd run it OTR. After a Deisel swap up. Something Cummins or detroit or even IDI.

Well, it's just a novelty for me. I don't have any practical uses for it yet. I don't even know if I could make any money with it to justify keeping it. Just a toy. It is true I can haul tons of water but I don't have any major plans at the moment. What about a flatbed wrecker to haul scrap metal and sometimes cars. Actually I really like it. Just hearing it crank and come to life every time is still a thrill. Also the sound of the air compressor and air brakes reminds me of my trucking days.
Instead of getting my long bed running I bought a little red '67 stepside. It will be my everyday running around vehicle I suppose.

I know this thread is old but I've been thinking about driving my F750 lately. Assume I manage to get her registered and insured. I thought I'd keep her around and drive her around here in town. I don't drive very far mostly. I'd criuse maybe on friday nights a little bit and maybe get groceries and pick up the kids from school and stuff like that.
I don't know how far the tires will go that are currently on it. But then again I ought to just take things one at a time.
1. transfer the title into my name. (still got the government form for that)
2. get insurance
3. replace the air compressor belt. (fix low air pressure warning that I disabled because it kept going off)
4. start driving the truck around (woohoo!)
5. find out where all the oil leaks from.

The tires last just about forever. if you plan on driving it I'd seriously consider taking a couple leafs out of the spring packs.
