Dave,
A few questions is I might...

Are those Mustang headers?
Is that a 70's Torino peeking out of the garage?
And how you gonna' keep your daughter's foot outa' that gas pedal!
I'm saying your engine build will be one fast "little 302" (as some folks on here call them)!

Jeff, yes those are stang headers and here's a pic of the Torino when it's not in hiding.

Gonna see how the 331 runs then were going big block and going racing. Thats the end goal.

Thanks for all the nice comments

My P S pump seems to be the weak link in the rack and pinion and hydroboost set up. I love the braking but the truck wants to die out when doing parking manuevers. I'm gonna eliminate the Hydroboost as a test and see if it's putting too much load on the pump.

Awesome! Would love to see it run.
Thanks for the Torino picture, (it's a Cobra right)?
I thought I saw sequential tail lights peeking out of there, very nice indeed.
Mine and my sons favorite year(s), here's Zach's Chero' shortly after getting the magnums on it:

Thanks for the nice words guys. I've had the Cobra since 84, and it wasnt very pretty when we got it and I need to paint it again (garage dings and the like). It;s currently running a 466, 4 spd with 3.73's in an N-case.

Jeff what year Chero is that?

Lance, I cant take any credit for the Hydroboost Idea, I got the itch to do it after reading other posters on the great site. I went and got one from the boneyard from a mid 90's GMC astro van, made up a mounting plate, shortened the input rod plumbed it up with a proportioning valve I took off of a big ford wagon (late 80"s ? ). It tied in nicely with the 05 Crown vic set up .The brake stopping power is phenominal and I hope I dont have to remove it.

Dave, it's a base 71' / I was the third owner / my son now is the fourth. Bought new in Ft. Myers Florida by one of my dear buddies father. Zach's plans are to make it a GT clone, (yet for now he loves the 250 / 6 cyl for economics).

Please get us a video when the 67' hits the strip!

 Nice work and very 8) that your daughters helping and going to be the Proud owner. I gotta laugh though----we have twin(well I,ve fixed mine now)tailgates and that dent seem's to be very common with these trucks. :hmm:

Jeff that inline 6 is a great motor, darn near unbreakable as long as you change the oil.
Is he gonna put a 429 in it? Saw one on craigslist here in chicago, thunderjet I think.

Thanks 67Mann. So exactly how much work was it? I've been on the hunt for a windshield and a tailgate but I'm resigning myself to the fact that it's gonna have to be fixed.

On the the bottom I drilled all the spot welds out and replaced the hole piece(lot's of work)and my top wasn't as bad as your's. On the top of the tailgate---I ran my grinder(with cutting wheel)right down the middle---then with a torch and a big flat bladed srcewdriver and worked it out the best I could. Welded the cut back together and used allmetal to bondo it. Would have been a hell of lot easier to buy one :hmm:

Aahhaa, I just went thru your pics and saw your work on the lower valance below the tailgate. Very nice
It's exactly what I need to do. Did you form it out of sheet stock? or was it part of a bed.
